ARESS-M requires a desktop computer (PC) running Microsoft Windows XP or Vista operating system, and a Pocket PC (PDA) running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 or 6 operating system:

• Automated measurements require a Pocket PC with Bluetooth connectivity and a conventional Laser Range Finder with Bluetooth connectivity (optional);
• Automated GPS localization requires a GPS receiver (built-in or external via Bluetooth; also optional);
• Automatic photography association with rooms/real estate objects require a built-in camera in the Pocket PC (optional);
